The impetus for developing the RESuLT Programme came from a number of local authorities who had successfully implemented other evidence based interventions within their children's services. These local authorities expressed a strong view that a social learning theory based programme for children's homes staff was the next logical step.
The Department for Education funded the development of the RESuLT Programme and the Innovation Fund has more recently funded further roll out and Independent Evaluation conducted by Bristol Universty, University of Loughborough and IPSoS Mori
The training has now been delivered to 400 residential childcare workers in 23 homes across 11 local authorities.
